How to Give Each Ministry Its Own Giving Link

One giving page, one Stripe account, and a giving link for each ministry that shows its name and keeps its own total. Here is how to set it up.

Your Men's Meeting is raising money for a retreat. The Youth want to support a mission trip. The Women's Fellowship collects for a family in need. Each group wants its own way to give, and the treasurer wants to know which money came from where. The usual answer is a cash envelope passed around the room, or a second online giving account nobody wants to manage.

There's a simpler way: one giving page for the whole church, and a giving link for each group that opens it with the group's name on it. This guide shows how to set it up with MsgOrb.

What a group giving link is

MsgOrb's Giving gives your church one giving page with its own link and QR code. Members give their tithe, offering or to one of your funds by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. The money goes straight to your church's own Stripe account.

A group giving link opens that same page with the group's name at the top: "Give to Men's Meeting", with your church's name under it and the same choices. When someone gives through it, the gift is recorded for that group. Nothing else changes: same page, same Stripe account, same receipts.

Why one Stripe account is better than one per group

  • One place for the money. Every gift, refund and payout is in your church's own Stripe dashboard.
  • No extra accounts to manage. Group leaders don't need their own payment account, and nobody has to close one when a leader changes.
  • Totals by group anyway. The Giving dashboard shows how much each group received.

How to set it up

  1. Set up Giving once. Open Giving in MsgOrb, connect your church's Stripe account (or create one from MsgOrb in a few minutes), and click Set up my giving page. Your page starts with Tithe and Offering; add your own funds if you like.
  2. Open the group's page. In Groups, open the ministry's contact group, for example Men's Meeting.
  3. Find the "Giving link for Men's Meeting" card. It has the link, a QR code, Share on WhatsApp, Copy link and Download QR code.
  4. Share it. The group's leader posts it in the group's WhatsApp chat, or prints the QR code for the meeting room.

You can also pick the group from Link for on the Giving page, which gives you the same link.

What members see

When a leader shares the link in WhatsApp, the preview reads "Tithes & Offerings · Men's Meeting · Grace Chapel", so people know exactly what it is before they tap. The message MsgOrb writes for them is plain:

Men's Meeting: you can now give your tithe or offering online (Grace Chapel), by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.

The page opens titled "Give to Men's Meeting". They pick Tithe, Offering or a fund, choose an amount, and pay. Giving their name and WhatsApp number is optional, so a gift can be anonymous.

Givers who leave their number get a receipt on WhatsApp that names the group: "Grace Chapel has received $50.00 as your offering for Men's Meeting." At the end of the year, they can get a giving statement with one click, or by sending STATEMENT to your number.

What the treasurer sees

  • A By group total on the Giving overview.
  • The group's name on each gift in the list.
  • A Group column in the CSV download, ready for your accounting software or spreadsheet.

What it costs

There's no monthly fee for Giving, on any MsgOrb plan, Free included. Each gift carries MsgOrb's fee of 2% + $0.50. The giving form has a "cover the fee" box, ticked by default: if the giver leaves it ticked, they add the fee on top; if they untick it, the fee comes out of the gift. Stripe's own card fee comes out of your payout.

Ideas for using it

  • Ministries: Men's, Women's, Youth, Choir, each with a link in its own WhatsApp chat.
  • Small groups and cell groups: each leader shares their group's link at the end of the meeting.
  • Campuses or congregations that share one church account but want their own totals.
  • A goal for one project? For a new roof or a mission trip with a target amount, a fundraiser with its own page and progress bar fits better.

Members can also send GIVE to your WhatsApp number at any time to get a Give now button straight away. Here's how Text GIVE works.
