Fundraisers

A campaign with a goal, a photo and a story, with its own page, a progress bar and a Share on WhatsApp button.

A fundraiser is a campaign with a goal (a new roof, a mission trip, school supplies) and its own page that people pass on in their WhatsApp groups. Any organization can use it: churches, NGOs, schools and clubs.

Open Giving and the Fundraisers tab. Only the workspace owner can create fundraisers, and Stripe must be connected first.

1. Create a fundraiser

  1. 1Click New fundraiser.
  2. 2Give it a name and tell the story: what the money is for and why it matters.
  3. 3Optional: a goal, a last day to give, and your own quick amounts.
  4. 4Choose whether to show recent donors on the page (on by default).
  5. 5Click Create fundraiser. Its page in the app opens.
  6. 6Add a photo there. It shows at the top of the fundraiser page and in the WhatsApp link preview.

2. The fundraiser page

The page shows the photo, the story, how much has been raised so far with a progress bar toward the goal, the number of donors and the days left. Visitors can Give now or Share on WhatsApp.

Donors give the same way as on your giving page: an amount, optional name and WhatsApp number, card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and the same Cover the fee box. They can also leave a short message and choose to show their name next to it. Otherwise they appear as Anonymous.

Messages can't contain links, email addresses or phone numbers. If a name or message isn't right for your page, open the fundraiser in the app and click Hide from page next to that donor: the page then shows that gift as Anonymous with no message. The gift still counts toward the total, and Show on page puts it back.

"Raised" counts what donors gave, without a fee they covered. On the fundraiser's page in the app you also see You receive: what your organization gets, before Stripe's fee.

3. Share it

Each fundraiser has its own link and QR code, with Share on WhatsApp, Copy link and Download QR code. Ask people to pass the link on. People can also text DONATE to your WhatsApp number to get your newest open fundraiser.

4. Closing

A fundraiser stays open until you close it on its page in the app or its last day passes. To take donations again after the last day, change the date. When it ends, the page thanks everyone who gave and stops taking donations. Donors get the same receipts as any other giving.
