Adding contacts

The three ways contacts get into a group, and the phone number format MsgOrb requires.

One at a time

On the group page click Add Member, stay on the Manual tab, and enter a Name and a Phone Number.

By CSV

Switch to the CSV Upload tab. Either upload a .csv file or paste rows directly, one contact per line:

Jane Doe,+15551234567
John Smith,+15559876543

The only columns are name and phone, in that order.

By join link

Share a link and let people enter their own details. See Join links and self-registration.

Phone number format

Numbers must be in full international format, starting with + and the country code.

AcceptedRejected
+155512345675551234567
+233 24 400 0000024 400 0000

MsgOrb deliberately has no default country. A number without a country code is ambiguous, and guessing produces contacts that look fine in the roster and silently never receive anything. A bulk import that contains any unreadable number is rejected in full, naming the offending values, so you fix the file rather than half-importing it.

Duplicates

MsgOrb matches on the normalised number. Adding a contact whose number already exists updates that record instead of creating a second one, so re-importing a list does not consume extra seats. A bulk import never moves an existing member out of a group you deliberately placed them in — it only fills in a group for members that have none.

Where contacts live

The group page shows one group's roster. Team Access shows the full member directory across every group, with health status, approval status and photos, plus bulk import and the workspace join link.
