What parents receive on WhatsApp

The "Check in" reply, the pickup pass, and when a message is free or paid.

Parents only ever send one word: Check in. The desk sign and the confirm button type it for them.

The reply to "Check in"

MsgOrb answers every Check in straight away. The parent wrote first, so the reply is free.

The pickup pass

When a volunteer checks children in, the parent gets a WhatsApp message with the children's names, the pickup code and an Open pickup pass button. The pass page shows the code in large letters for the volunteer at pickup. It works for that day only, and shows when the children have been collected.

Messages never go to a parent who replied STOP.

The pickup code is never put inside a template. Meta treats a code in a Utility template as a one-time password and rejects it, so the template links to the pickup pass page instead.

Confirming a parent's number

A parent's number is confirmed when they send Check in, when a free pickup pass reaches them, or when you click Mark number confirmed on their family. The Not confirmed count on the Kids Check-in page shows how many still need it. Only confirmed numbers get the paid backup template.
