Requirements

What you need from Meta and from your plan before the first message can go out.

From Meta

  • A Meta Business Portfolio (business.facebook.com).
  • A WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) with a phone number added to it. The number must not be active on the WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business phone apps.
  • A way to connect it. The easiest is Meta Embedded Signup: click Connect with Facebook on WhatsApp Settings and follow Meta's steps — there is no token to copy. Alternatively, paste a permanent System User access token with the whatsapp_business_messaging and whatsapp_business_management permissions.
  • A payment method on your WhatsApp Business Account. Meta charges for template messages and bills that account directly. Without a card on it, template sends fail. See Adding a payment method.
  • At least one approved template if you intend to message people who have not written to you in the last 24 hours. Use Utility for notices and reminders (delivers everywhere) or Marketing for promotions (delivers everywhere except the US).

From MsgOrb

  • An active paid plan. The connection form on WhatsApp Settings stays disabled while the subscription is not active.
  • At least one group with members in it.

What you do not need

  • You do not need to enter a Phone Number ID. MsgOrb reads it from your WhatsApp Business Account once you connect.
  • You do not need to buy message credits from MsgOrb. Meta bills your WABA directly, using the payment method you add there.
Meta caps a brand new business number at 250 unique recipients per 24 hours. That is Meta's limit, not your MsgOrb plan. Business Verification lifts it to 1,000, and the higher tiers follow automatically from volume and quality.
