Automation overview

What automation means in MsgOrb, stated precisely.

Automation in MsgOrb means three specific things. There is no general trigger-and-action builder, and no way to define your own conditions.

1. Time-based sends

A workflow can be scheduled for a future time and repeated daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. The trigger is the clock. Configure it in section 5 of any workflow builder. See Scheduling and repeating.

2. Event-based sends from your own systems

Your booking system, shop or CRM posts to the MsgOrb notification webhook, and MsgOrb sends the message. The trigger is the HTTP request. Three event types are supported: appointment, delivery and status update. See Notifications overview.

3. Automatic replies to inbound messages

When a member replies, MsgOrb can answer common questions from answers you typed in when you built the workflow, and it can release a held attachment on request. The trigger is the member's message. See Smart Auto-Replies.

What is not available

  • No conditional branching, no if-this-then-that rules, no multi-step sequences.
  • No drip campaigns or follow-up chains.
  • No AI or language model anywhere. Smart Auto-Replies match fixed keywords against text you supplied.
  • No birthday or anniversary automation. It was removed, because celebration wording is classified MARKETING by Meta and marketing messages are blocked to United States numbers.
