Submitting a template to Meta

The status badges, how to submit, and how to pull approvals back into MsgOrb.

The status badges

BadgeMeaning
DraftSaved in MsgOrb, never sent to Meta
PendingWith Meta, awaiting review
ApprovedUsable. Only approved templates can be selected in a workflow
RejectedMeta refused it. Hover the badge to read the reason

Submitting

On a Draft or Rejected card click Submit to Meta. If Meta refuses the submission, MsgOrb shows Meta's own message verbatim.

Common submission errors:

  • *WhatsApp Business Account not connected* — MsgOrb has no WABA ID for your workspace. See Connecting Meta and WhatsApp.
  • *Variables can't be at the start or end of the template* — Meta's wording for rule 1 or 2 in Creating a template.

Getting the result back

Meta does not push approvals into MsgOrb. Click Sync Status to pull the current state of every template from Meta, then reload the page. Review usually takes fifteen to thirty minutes, and up to a day or two if a human reviews it.

If a template is rejected or reclassified

Read the reason, fix the specific problem, and submit once. Do not submit small variations of the same rejected wording repeatedly — Meta counts repeated rejections and reclassifications against your WhatsApp Business Account's quality rating.

If Meta reclassifies a genuine utility notice as MARKETING, you can request a review in Meta Business Support. See Template rejected or reclassified.
