Membership Dues collects monthly or yearly dues automatically. Members sign up once from a link you share on WhatsApp, and Stripe charges their card every month or year, on your own Stripe account.
Open Membership Dues in the sidebar. Only the workspace owner can create dues plans, and your Stripe account must be connected first (on the Tickets page).
1. Create a dues plan
- 1Click New dues plan.
- 2Choose the WhatsApp group it is for (or create a new one), give it a name (for example Annual membership), the amount, and Every month or Every year.
- 3Click Create dues plan.
- 4Press Send to group. Every member gets a WhatsApp message with their own payment link. Members who haven't paid get a friendly reminder 3 days and 7 days later, then nothing more.
2. What members see
Members type their name and WhatsApp number and pay the first month or year by card. After that:
- Their card is charged automatically every month or year, and a receipt arrives on WhatsApp each time.
- If a renewal fails, they get a WhatsApp link to update their card. The dues are then paid with the new card straight away.
- They can stop from their own page. They stay a member until the end of the period they paid for.
Each payment carries MsgOrb's booking fee (2% + US$0.50), paid by the member on top of the dues. Stripe's processing fee comes out of your payout. Members who pay join the plan's WhatsApp group (if they aren't already one of your contacts) and count toward your plan's member limit like any member.
3. Following your members
Each plan's page has three tabs:
- Overview: members paid up, money collected, what comes in each period, and failed payments.
- Members: everyone, their status (Paid up, Payment failed, Cancelled), when they renew, and what they have paid. Stop dues ends charges after the period already paid.
- Edit details & amount: the same form, and Close sign-ups. A new amount applies only to new members. A plan with paying members can't switch between monthly and yearly.
4. The WhatsApp messages
Receipts and "payment failed" notices use the Built-In Library templates Payment Receipt and Payment Failed Notice. Click Add the payment messages on the plan's page to add them and send them to Meta for approval.
