Utility message
A template about something the person asked for or signed up for, such as a confirmation, reminder or receipt.
Utility templates follow up on a transaction or a request: an RSVP confirmation, an event reminder, a payment receipt, a schedule change. They are cheaper than marketing messages, and Meta checks that the wording is not promotional before approving one as utility.
Since October 1, 2026, utility templates are charged even when sent inside the 24-hour window. In the US and Canada a utility message costs $0.0034 at Meta’s list rate.
